Europe's leading futurist, Dr Patrick Dixon, is to give the keynote presentation at EBAday 2013, the pre-eminent annual event for the European payments industry, which will run for two full days from 21-22 May at the Estrel Convention Center, Berlin.

Dr Dixon is ranked as one of the 20 most influential business thinkers alive today. Chairman of Global Change Ltd, and author of twelve books, his multimedia vision of the future is certain to provide an inspirational scene setter for the annual EBAday conference and exhibition.

Up to 750 bankers and treasury professionals are expected to attend the two-day event in Berlin, which will address head on the challenges to the banking industry's payments franchise from new regulations and a host of innovative start-ups.

The conference programme at EBAday 2013 - organised by the Euro Banking Association and Finextra - features keynotes, panel discussions and break-out sessions comprising more than 50 of Europe's leading figures in payments.

The top-level seminar programme at EBAday is complemented by a bustling exhibition floor, showcasing the complete spectrum of payment processing services from leading banks, ACHs, technology vendors and consultancies.

Here are some of the highlights of the 2012 event:

After a record-breaking turnout in Edinburgh last year, the EBA and Finextra are preparing for another bumper crowd at this year's event, with delegate passes and exhibition floor space selling fast.
