Barclays launches mobile app for LGBT staff

Barclays has launched a mobile application for staff interested in lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) issues.

The free app, available through Apple's App Store and Google Play, is the latest development from Barclays' Spectrum network for LGBT staff, which was set up in 2002.

The app provides members with information about Spectrum, news of upcoming events and activities and details on how to connect with other members. Users need to enter their Spectrum details to access the members' area.

Employees can also interact with Spectrum via 'My Site' while at work, and through Facebook and Twitter using the app at home.

Antony Jenkins, CEO, retail and business banking, Barclays, told PinkNews: "We have already been rated the top financial services employer in the UK by Stonewall - and with the new Spectrum app staff right across our branch network will be able to interact, stay informed and find out what support is available to them."
