Citi says its new ThankYou Point Sharing app makes rewards social, enabling Facebook friends to club together to get hold of goods and services or donate to charity.

To use the app, customers sign up through the ThankYou Point Sharing tab on Citi's Facebook page. They can then start a pool of points for an individual, group or cause and set a goal before contributing and inviting friends to participate.

The bank is giving 10 million ThankYou points away to qualifying members on Facebook at launch.

This new app is a first in the marketplace and a fun, flexible way to share ThankYou points - as well as rewarding experiences - with friends and family."
