There was a sharp fall in UK spending on credit cards last year as cautious customers turned to debit cards and cash, according to figures from the British Retail Consortium (BRC).
Actually UK credit card spending went UP. If you look atthe figures in the report you'll see that whilst credit card spending went down as a proportion of spending, it went up by 5.8% in absolute terms. http://bit.ly/iyZpgd
