Thomson Reuters is preparing to sell Kondor, its trade and risk management technology business, attracting interest from private equity firms and vendors, according to the Financial Times.

The company has brought in Barclays to advise it on a sale and sent out information about the unit - which could fetch up to $500 million - to potential buyers.

Citing a person "close to the talks", the FT says PE outfit CVC is the seen as a frontrunner, with Hellman & Friedman, 3i, Warburg Pincus and Advent all potential bidders as well.

UK fintech vendor Misys - provider of Kondor rival Summit - could also make a move, as could French firm Murex and US giant SunGard, claims the FT.
