Barclaycard updates iPhone game

Barclaycard's relentless plugging of its contactless cards has continued with a revamped rollercoaster game for the iPhone and associated competition.

The Rollercoaster Extreme game sees players navigate their way through New York, avoiding the obstacles and racing against the clock.

Barclaycard says it is creating a "global community of gamers", and the player topping a leaderboard at the end of each month will win an Apple iPad. In January the top four players will go to Las Vegas to battle it out for a £50,000 prize.

Hannah Deans, senior digital and new media manager, Barclaycard says: "We are building on the success of the advertising campaign and the overwhelming success we experienced with Waterslide Extreme, offering customers the chance to engage with the rollercoaster concept, but also encouraging Barclaycard fans across the world to get involved in an innovative global challenge."

However, the game has seen a mixed response from gamers, with 92 of 225 reviewers giving it a lowly one star out of five.

Appraising the latest update, Brittrb says: "Um not that good. All you do is leen [sic] and get power ups so it is a boring game."
