Dawood Islamic Bank live with SunGard Web banking product

SunGard says Pakistan-based Dawood Islamic Bank (DIBL) is using its System Access Customer Service Manager package to provide Shariah-compliant Internet banking services to retail and corporate customers.

SunGard says the new system will enable DIBL to provide Shariah-compliant Internet banking services as well as online payments and trade finance facilities.

The system will also help reduce the bank's operational costs whilst providing its clients with more convenient self-service facilities.

Commenting on the deployment, Nikolaus Schwarz, chief executive officer, DIBL, says: "SunGard offered an easily integrated solution that would fit seamlessly with both System Access and other third party solutions."

The latest installment follows the bank's deployment of the System Access Core Banking package in December 2007 for its Islamic Banking operations.

SunGard acquired the System Access products when it bought out the Singapore-listed banking systems vendor in October 2006.
