Australian banking group Westpac has appointed McKinsey consultant and former GM of its banking operations Diane Sias as group executive, business and technology solutions and services.
Sias is currently based in the US and is a partner at McKinsey and Company.
Before joining the management consultancy in 2000, Sias was a senior executive at Westpac for ten years. Prior to leaving the bank she was general manager of banking operations and responsible for the management of the bank's back office functions.
Her previous roles at the bank included group wide management of purchasing, property and retail support functions, including operations and technology. She also had a lead role in the post-merger integrations of Challenge Bank, Bank of Melbourne and Trust Bank, following those acquisitions.
Sias will join Westpac in September and will replace Michael Coomer, who is retiring from the bank at the end of July.
