ICMA appoints Kevin Milne MD of UK tech subsidiary

The International Capital Market Association (ICMA) has appointed Kevin Milne as managing director of its UK subsidiary, which is responsible for operating technology products and services.

Milne has spent over 20 years in global financial markets having joined the London Stock Exchange - where he held various senior business development and management roles - at the time of Big Bang.

After LSE Milne went on to the electronic settlements group of Thomson Financial where he was responsible for all aspects of the business outside of the Americas until the vendor set up the Omgeo joint venture with the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC).

Milne remained at Omgeo, where he held the role of executive managing director – international until he was recruited by trading systems supplier Macgregor in 2002 to drive the company's expansion in the international markets, particularly in Europe. He quite Macgregor for US fintech firm SS&C Technologies in June 2004. The firm was subsequently acquired by private equity firm The Carlyle Group in Q4 2005.

Milne joins ICMA on 19 February 2007 and will be replacing Royston Lambert, who retired in January after holding the post for over 20 years.
