Standard Chartered Bank is installing technology from Massachusetts-based Pegasystems to automate its payments investigation processes.

Pegasystems says its Smart Investigate package will provide Standard Chartered with a fully-automated, end-to-end process.

The system will also ensuring that any follow-up investigations are undertaken rapidly and consistently.

Smart Investigate is built on Pegasystems' rules-driven business process management (BPM) software suite.

David Wells, VP and MD, Emea, Pegasystems, says: "The flexibility and responsiveness of the Pegasystems solution is ideally suited to large organisations such as Standard Chartered looking to achieve rapid change."

Earlier this month Standard Chartered Bank said it was adopting a range of Swift services - including cash, trade, corporate access and securities services - to support its transaction banking operations.
