Barclays has hired Washington Mutual's Dennis Millsaps as a new senior technology officer - the latest of a series of high profile IT appointments the UK bank has made over the past few months.
Millsaps was previously senior vice president, consumer banking/mortgage systems services at Washington Mutual.
He joined the US bank from California-based consultancy DFM & Associates. Prior to this he was a managing director and senior vice president at EFunds Corporation and also worked within Computer Sciences Corporation's financial services group.
In his new role, Millsaps will work on UK banking strategic programmes and will report to CIO Dominic Trotta.
CIO Trotta joined Barclays from Citigroup in August. The bank also hired Morgan Stanley alumni Sandeep Chouhan as senior technology offer and head of technology for its international retail and commercial banking business.
Millsaps also joins Washington Mutual veteran Deanna Oppenheimer at Barclays, who was hired in August this year to help with the revamp of the bank's retail banking services in the UK.
