Barclaycard sheds 250 jobs

Barclaycard, the credit card arm of UK bank Barclays, is cutting 250 jobs at its consumer finance division.

Barclays says the cuts would mainly affect back-office staff at its head office in Northampton.

Tha bank recently announced plans to axe 800 back-office, support and IT staff, but also said it was creating 1000 new customer-facing roles.
