12 February 2004  |  2325 views  |  0

Credit information agency Experian has acquired Marketswitch, a Virginia-based provider of price optimisation and sales technology, for an undisclosed sum.

Marketswitch's True Suite products are used in the financial services, communications, retail and e-commerce industries by companies including Capital One, Discover Financial Services, Vodafone Sweden and Abbey National. The software is used to help match products to customers, channels and price-points in batch or real-time.

Under the deal, Marketswitch will operate as a product line within Experian's decisioning software business Experian-Scorex. Marketswitch will be offered as a stand-alone product and will also be integrated with Experian-Scorex's Strategy Manager Generation 3 product.

Commenting on the acquisition, Drew Eginton, president, Marketswitch, says: "This is a unique opportunity to join Experian and contribute our strategic enterprise decisioning applications to their already-rich library of existing products and services."
