LogicaCMG and Sterling Commerce in FileAct messaging pact

Sterling Commerce and LogicaCMG have partnered to provide a system for SwiftNet messaging over the newly-available FileAct bulk payments service.

Under the agreement, LogicaCMG's Fastwire and Bess funds transfer products will be wired for integration with Sterling Commerce's Integrator and Connect products.

The vendors are jointly demonstrating a proof-of-concept prototype of the service at Sibos this week.

Chris Benn, Swift line of business manager at LogicaCMG, says: "The solution is an easy way to get benefit from the FileAct service, and prepares the way for wider use by the financial community. As Sterling Commerce is the accepted leader in file-based integration, they were the obvious choice to work with on this project."

Over a third of Swift FileAct users are already using Connect:Direct for file-based transfer over SwiftNet.

First released at Sibos 2002 in Geneva, Sterling Commerce is this year showcasing version 2.0 of the product. The latest upgrade offers banks a deployment choice based on security policies by allowing users to run locally on the SwiftAlliance Gateway or communicate through the Swift Remote Adapter interface from behind their company firewall.

The agreement with LogicaCMG also allows for the UK-based systems integrator to capitalise on its position as the first global Swift business partner by rolling out the Sterling Commerce file transfer service to SwiftAlliance users.
