Twitter and Chase offer small businesses $1m in free advertising

Twitter is handing over $1 million in advertising credits to Chase small business customers as part of a wider partnership aimed at helping firms tap into the social network.

Credits will be awarded to Chase small business customers in $100 increments for Twitter's Small Business advertising platform, which became available to US firms last April.

The partners are also set to give customers access to research, best practices, and workshops designed to help them better understand how to use Twitter to grow.

Customised Chase and Twitter content is being shared via a new @ChaseSmallBiz account, as well as at local events around the country for small business customers.

Says Russ Laraway, head, small business, Twitter, in a blog post: "Our goal is to help small businesses build better customer engagement, increase sales using direct response techniques, and engage more followers with compelling content."

American Express struck a similar deal with Twitter in February 2012.
