Barclays has filed a motion seeking to throw out a lawsuit from the New York Attorney General accusing the bank of deceptively luring unwary investors to a dark pool that was actually being run for the benefit of predatory high-frequency traders.

The Financial Stability Board is canvassing views on the potential to develop a global order matching utility for fixing foreign exchange trades in an effort to clamp down on banks trading ahead of the daily benchmark rates.

Bloomberg buys RTS Realtime Systems

Bloomberg has acquired market connectivity and trading technology firm RTS Realtime Systems. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Deutsche Bourse has launched an 'Open Innovation' forum with the aim of building a community to incubate, develop and accelerate new business ideas coming from outside the group

Capital markets tech house First Derivatives will create nearly 500 jobs at its headquarters in Newry, Northern Ireland, after scoring a £3.9 million government grant.
