LatentZero has reset the benchmark by which all buy-side compliance software will be judged as it unveils Capstone Sentinel 5.0, at the 2006 SIA Technology Management conference in New York. LatentZero’s innovative architecture, coupled with the use of an in-memory rule engine, means the new software will run twice as fast as previous versions.
This latest version of Capstone Sentinel reflects the tightening regulatory landscape in which asset management firms now operate. It ensures that asset managers are able to handle the increased volumes associated with current and future trading environments with greater confidence, without any loss of performance.
Seven of the world’s top ten asset managers already use Capstone Sentinel to manage their compliance activities, and version 5.0 will retain the attributes that these firms rely on, including its ability to integrate easily with other proprietary front office applications. However new features, such as an upgrade to Microsoft’s .NET toolset, allow for even easier global deployment and faster XML processing. Integration options have also been increased via APIs using the Web Services framework. In addition, the look and feel has been updated and increased functionality has been added to the user-friendly GUI.
Capstone Sentinel 5.0’s reporting functionality has also been significantly improved. It continues to offer a comprehensive audit trail, incorporating real-time and historical data as well as input points that enable different users to check incidents and approve changes. It now also provides clients with a graphical view of their workflow and the ability to load and monitor a second set of official as-of positions for end-of-month updates. This means that the compliance manager will have a truly real-time view on positions as well as the ability to check historic point-in-time data.
Unveiling Capstone Sentinel 5.0 at the annual SIA Technology Management Conference in New York (20-22nd June), LatentZero Director, North American Operations, Gail Romano explains: “Our aim is to meet the current and future needs of the global asset management industry. Tighter regulations all over the world, highly complex client mandates and much closer levels of scrutiny by regulators are combining to make compliance a major issue for asset managers.
"We’ve listened to our clients and the developments in Sentinel 5.0 reflect their changing compliance requirements. Along with our recent investments in client support and implementation services, particularly in North America, this demonstrates LatentZero’s commitment to maintaining Capstone Sentinel’s position as the fastest and most widely-used compliance tool in the industry."
