Gresham Computing plc, a leading provider of real-time financial transaction control and enterprise data integrity solutions, today announced the appointment of Damian Canning as Sales Director for North America.

Based in Gresham’s New York City office, Canning will be responsible for continuing the strong growth of Gresham’s Clareti Transaction Control (CTC) platform in North America.

The new appointment builds on the positive traction Gresham is already seeing in the US market, and expands on the firm’s existing presence and success in the region. This includes a significant deal Gresham announced in June to implement CTC for a US-based $1bn pre-paid products business, providing increased control and real-time financial certainty.

“Damian’s appointment comes at an exciting time in Gresham’s development, as we extend our market leadership in providing enterprise data integrity solutions to the global financial services industry. We have seen a 247% increase in our software revenues for CTC in the first half of this year alone, and we see great opportunities to expand our business in North America going forward,” said Bill Blythe, Global Business Development Director, Gresham Computing. “Damian’s track record in working with large financial institutions, combined with his overall industry expertise, will be a great asset to us as we continue to grow our presence in this market.”

Canning brings 20 years of sales and marketing experience to Gresham, with a particular focus on financial technology. He joins from a similar role at CoreOne Technologies – a firm specialising in regulatory reporting and data management, acquired by Markit for some $200million. He has also held significant business development and management roles with a number of additional financial technology specialists including Spigit, Capco, Experian and Traiana. At the latter, he was part of the first team on the ground in Europe prior to the business being sold to ICAP.

In addition to new business development, sales and marketing, Canning will also support Gresham’s global clients that have a presence in North America, and will work with strategic partners for Gresham in the data integrity space.
