Thanks to this new service, users only need to have the mobile phone number of the beneficiary to transfer funds. The system associates the phone number to the IBAN code of the account and enables the user – as with WhatsApp – to select a receiver from the personal contacts on his or her Smartphone, enter the amount, a text message if required, and click to complete the send operation.

The website – available at the link jiffy.sia.eu – has been developed in responsive mode and can thus be used on all devices (PC, Smartphone and tablet). With just a few clicks, the Jiffy website allows users to discover how the service works and how to activate it, as well as a list of all the banks that have chosen to sign up to the solution offered by SIA.

At present Jiffy, a registered trademark developed by SIA, is available to the current account holders of the major Italian banks, including BNL, Cariparma, Carispezia, Friuladria, Gruppo Carige, Hello bank!, Intesa Sanpaolo, UBI Banca, UniCredit and Widiba, and shortly also to the customers of Banca Mediolanum, Banca Popolare di Milano, Banca Popolare di Sondrio, Banca Popolare di Vicenza, Che Banca!, Gruppo Poste Italiane and Monte dei Paschi di Siena.

Thanks to this new application based on SEPA credit transfer, SIA has launched, for the first time in the Euro zone, a service open to all the banks operating in the Single Euro Payments Area, potentially useable by over 400 million European current account holders.
