Mercury Payment Systems, a Vantiv company (NYSE: VNTV) and a provider of payments technology and services for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs), and Datacap Systems, a leading integrated payments middleware provider, announced today they have completed the certification for an EMV-capable solution for Integrated Software Vendors (ISVs) and SMBs.

“Small businesses face a variety of challenges implementing EMV and other security solutions,” said Matt Ozvat, vice president of developer integrations at Mercury. “Now that our solution has been certified, it allows developers to quickly and easily implement with a merchant’s POS system and securely meet the EMV requirements.”

The Datacap solution with Mercury is certified to the card brands for EMV, and includes card data encryption and tokenization in a version of NETePay™ now available for download. ISV partners can integrate and certify today with Mercury through Datacap’s dsiEMVUS™. NETePay for PC-based point of sale provides POS ISVs with the ability to deliver EMV functionality via a simple out-of-scope interface.

“One thing we really like is the Datacap solution with Mercury allows the out-of-scope control to handle all the integration to the ‘Secure Devices’ eliminating the need for our developers to integrate with different hardware devices,” said Roger Blanchard, president at Osprey Retail Systems. “In about a week of development time we had integrated the new dsiEMVUS into our POS applications and will deploy the EMV release in late August.”

“We’re ecstatic to make our initial U.S. EMV release available for Mercury and its partners,” said Justin Zeigler, marketing director at Datacap Systems. “Mercury has been very aggressive in assisting the integration channel to deliver a full suite of payment security options to their merchant base, including point-to-point encryption, tokenization and now EMV. This makes Mercury the ideal partner to lead the charge.”

Mercury will be discussing EMV and its other security offerings at this year’s Retail Solutions Providers Association (RSPA) trade show RetailNow, in Orlando, Fla., Aug. 2-5. At RetailNow, Ray Moorman, director, product strategy, Mercury, will be on the “Jeopardy EMV” panel on Tuesday Aug. 4 at 9 am, and Ozvat will be moderating a panel on “EMV Changes for Everyone” on Wednesday Aug. 5 at 10 am. At the Mercury booth, payments experts will demonstrate for partners and businesses how to fight the security threats facing them, including fraud, data compromise, non-compliance and the resulting financial impacts. Chris Allen, director of marketing will also be speaking at RSPA in a session titled “SEO- Power of Content Marketing, on Wednesday, Aug. 5 at 10 am.

The initial release of NETePay for Mercury is certified to utilize the VX 805 PIN Pad from Verifone® that supports EMV, MSR, PIN and NFC contactless transactions. Additional hardware options will be available as Datacap completes queued device certifications. Partners will be able to add them with little or no code changes required.
