Starting today, investors will be able to stay more closely connected to the market than ever before with Schwab’s new Apple Watch app.

Clients will have an at-a-glance view of market headlines and their customized watchlists, as well as the ability to quickly drill down to view detailed stock quotes. The Apple Watch complements Schwab’s robust mobile app capabilities, allowing clients to initiate equity or options trades via their Apple Watch for completion on their iPhone with just a few simple taps of the device.

“Our clients are passionate about the markets and they want to take advantage of the latest innovations in mobile technology to stay connected nearly every waking hour. This exciting new era of wearable technology elegantly extends Schwab’s powerful mobile capabilities to the Apple Watch, giving investors the unprecedented ability to literally bring the markets with them wherever they go1,” said Diane Russell, Senior Vice President of Platform and Product Management at Charles Schwab.

In early May Schwab will also launch a new powerful and intuitive mobile experience, bringing the most popular features from Trade Source - its web platform for traders - to all clients who use iPhone, iPad or Android mobile devices. Inspired by Trade Source on Schwab.com, the new mobile apps will synthesize the information that is most important to investors and display it in easy-to-navigate modules. Clients will be able to view account balances, positions, order status and news modules from their mobile devices. The new mobile app release will also feature new navigation, making it easier to access some of the most commonly used tools like watchlist, as well as banking features like transfer, mobile deposit2 and bill pay.

Trading Services clients will be able to access the popular Stay ConnectedTM module, which gives traders a view of the news, corporate actions and technical indicators that are impacting the holdings in their portfolio.

“Traders can become overwhelmed by the amount of information they are bombarded with on a daily basis. The new mobile experience will curate what is most relevant to a trader’s current positions while seamlessly providing the familiar trading experience that they currently enjoy across Trade Source and StreetSmart Edge®. Providing an integrated trading experience, optimized for the device or platform the trader needs at the time, allows our clients to focus on what is most important - trading,” added Russell.
