Checkprint, part of the TALL Group of Companies, the UK leader in the provision of secure paper and payment solutions, has been awarded a contract extension by Metro Bank for cheque services.

Metro Bank has been working with Checkprint since 2010, when it was the first new high street bank to open its doors in the UK for over 100 years.

The contract extension will see Metro Bank use the latest version of The CheckPrint Solution, the innovative, secure and versatile cheque printing system, to instantly issue chequebooks to all new account holders, within minutes of them entering the store. Replenishment books, for both personal and business customers, are also provided on tight service levels from Checkprint's fully accredited site in Hinckley, Leicestershire.

The contract also provides Metro Bank with the ability to 'image' all cheques received for reconciliation and query resolution purposes, meaning that the bank is fully prepared for the introduction of the image-based cheque clearing legislation, which is expected to arrive in the UK in mid-2016.

Paul Riseborough, Managing Director of Customer Propositions at Metro Bank, said: "Metro Bank's commitment to providing outstanding customer service is underpinned with a number of key deliverables, including the ability to instantly issue chequebooks to all new account holders if they would like one. Since 2010, Checkprint has worked with Metro Bank to help us provide this service to our customers."

Martin Ruda, Managing Director of Checkprint, said: "Checkprint has established an excellent working relationship with Metro Bank over the last four years and we are pleased to be able to extend the partnership. Checkprint's ability to deliver flexible and future proof banking solutions is a significant reason behind the company's growth and ongoing success."
