Citing First Data Corporation's superior solution set, Interra Credit Union in Goshen, Indiana, has extended its merchant acquiring referral agreement with First Data for an additional five years, adding to a decade-long relationship.

The continuing agreement gives Interra the ability to enhance its brand with access to world-class solutions that put the tools used by larger financial institutions into the hands of smaller entities like Interra, which has 13 branches supporting 57,000 customers.

Among First Data’s small-to-midsize business (SMB) suite are First Data’s Clover™ Station, the InsighticsSM analytics tool, Perka™ and the TransArmor® Solution. Interra currently has two high-resolution and two low-resolution Clover Stations at four of its locations, which, according to Chris Smith, business development manager at Interra, have sparked considerable interest.

Clover Station, which First Data launched seven months ago transforms the point of sale (POS) into a dynamic business management system, and has become one of the fastest-selling POS systems in the marketplace, with tens of thousands of units already in service. The Clover Android-based operating system gives merchants access to Clover’s unique App Market, allowing them to customize Clover to their specific needs.

The App Market also gives merchants access to First Data’s other innovative solutions such as Perka, a robust loyalty program that any SMB can use to turn occasional customers into loyal fans by combining rewards and incentives with repeat purchases.

Insightics unlocks the power of big data behind payment transactions to give SMB merchants the ability to monitor key business metrics, better understand customers and derive more value from their marketing and loyalty programs, while the TransArmor Solution is a powerful, multilayered security tool that protects SMB consumer data.

"The service we’ve received from First Data is fantastic, from the front lines to the back office," said Christopher Smith, business development manager, Interra. "First Data is the top technology solution provider, and the top companies are using its services and using its services and solutions, so we’re delighted to continue this relationship," he added.
