Barchart introduces on-demand equity options market data

Barchart.com, Inc., a leading provider of market data and information, today announced the availability of US and Canadian equity options price data through Barchart OnDemand.

Barchart OnDemand is a cloud-based service developed for accessing and delivering market data and information using web services APIs. Barchart OnDemand is built upon the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud infrastructure and features the ability to easily access an extensive amount of market data and information. With the availability of equity options clients can request current, end-of-day and historical option pricing using a simple Barchart OnDemand API. The getEquityOptions API offers access to price data, as well as greek calculations like delta, gamma, theta and vega, in addition to implied volatility data. US and Canadian equity options pricing comes from leading option exchanges such as Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE), International Securities Exchange (ISE), NASDAQ, AMEX, ARCA, BATS and Montreal Exchange.

Barchart OnDemand APIs support both GET and POST requests, as well as SOAP, and data can be delivered in multiple formats like XML, JSON and CSV. And, as a web services solution, Barchart OnDemand is compatible with any operating system, such as Windows, Linux, iOS or Android, and any programming language, such as Java, PHP, or ASP.NET.
