Clear2Pay, the international technology provider of next generation payment solutions for financial institutions announces that BNP Paribas - IRB (International Retail Banking) has signed a contract with Clear2Pay to supply its clients with a future proof internet banking solution through the OPF eBanking platform.

Over the past ten years, the group had been using the predecessor of the OPF eBanking solution, under the label BNPinet. A study on a 10-15 year future facing strategy for internet banking revealed that although the functionality was very much up to par, technology had advanced to a degree that BNP Paribas needed a major upgrade in terms of technology, integration and scalability. The OPF eBanking solution, being built on the SOA based Open Payment Framework, offers just that in terms of agility, future proofing, integration with existing applications, channel agnostic capabilities and high levels of customisation.

The new eBanking solution has been tested by more than 20 clients in an early live production environment. This coupled with a proven migration path for all existing BNPinet users made it the solution of choice. Furthermore, OPF eBanking represents a major footprint in the execution of a mobile strategy for International Retail Banking subsidiaries of BNP Paribas. The first out of nine subsidiaries to go live with OPF eBanking will be Algeria in first half of 2015.

Sebastien Subileau, Head of Deployment at BNP Paribas -International Retail Banking states: “It goes without saying that we embarked on a thorough evaluation process when modernizing our online and mobile banking strategy. A secure and future proof solution in an environment that changes faster than anyone can imagine is of vital importance. The functional richness and the modularity of Clear2Pay offer are the basis for our success and therefore the guarantee of true added value for our clients.”

Nicolas Métivier, General Manager EMEA at Clear2Pay responds: “A relationship that spans a decade holds value both in terms of lessons learned as well as a future facing partnership. We have invested heavily in building a truly channel agnostic internet banking solution and are delighted that BNP Paribas recognises this and puts their trust in us once more to offer their clients a smooth migration, an excellent customer experience and a true step forward in terms of full mobility.”
