GlobalCollect, the world's most knowledgeable payment service provider, today announced the appointment of Matias Fainbrum, a payments industry veteran and previously the head of its Business Development group in Latin America, as its new General Manager for the region.

Mr. Fainbrum will be based in GlobalCollect's regional headquarters in Buenos Aires, and will oversee the company's rapidly growing footprint in Latin America, which includes Sub1, the region's leading payments gateway, as well its operations in Sao Paulo, Brazil and other key markets.

Mr. Fainbrum joined GlobalCollect in 2010 to lead the company's Business Development efforts across Latin America. Under his leadership, the company grew its customer base in the region by 300%. Prior to joining GlobalCollect, Fainbrum was Managing Director, Latin America for management consulting firm Business Minds. Earlier in his career, Mr. Fainbrum held various sales and marketing management positions at Oracle and Telecom Argentina.

"At GlobalCollect, we pride ourselves on our strong regional position in Latin America. With our local footprint, deep industry and regional expertise, and our Sub1 payments gateway, we offer a very comprehensive payments solution for any merchant looking to enter or expand into Latin America," said David Jimenez, Chief Revenue Officer of GlobalCollect. "In leading our Business Development efforts across the region, Matias has been instrumental in our growth there. It was a natural progression for Matias to take on this new responsibility and we are very confident in his ability to lead our international clients to business success in Latin America."
"These are very exciting times for anybody working in eCommerce in Latin America, and for GlobalCollect in particular" said Fainbrum. "Latin America's internet population is the fastest-growing in the world, international companies are increasingly looking to expand into the region, and more regional leaders are growing beyond their national borders. I'm very excited to help international merchants maximize their potential in Latin America in my new role."
