The tool provides information on the security features of the Real. The purpose is to facilitate recognition of the banknotes by the Brazilian population and foreign tourists. The banknotes present several security features of easy identification.

When positioning your smartphone or tablet on the banknote, the app identifies the note by image comparison. Then shows the security features to be observed. The system is available in Portuguese, English and Spanish.

The app will provide the information to the user´s own scan, in case of doubt. It´s not able to check the authenticity of banknotes.

Câmbio Legal

The central bank also launched a new version of Câmbio Legal, created last year. The tool for mobile devices helps to find locations all over the country, using information provided by institutions authorized by the Central Bank, that operate in the foreign exchange market. This version includes new features such as VET (Total Effective Value) charged on foreign exchange transactions by the institutions; currency conversion, using the PTAX reference rate released by the Central Bank; and search of historical quotations of currencies.
