Flint Mobile today announced the integration of its no-card-reader mobile payment app with Intuit's QuickBooks Online, expediting end-to-end operations for small businesses that work outside traditional storefront environments.

Flint is the only mobile phone-based payment app that automatically syncs all transactions, line item information and customer information with the user's QuickBooks Online account, eliminating manual data entry while also providing detailed reporting and customer history tracking not available with other platform integrations.

These features extend Flint's benefits for mobile business management, including the ability to take payments by scanning the card number with the camera instead of swiping with extra hardware, send invoices for easy online bill payment, handle cash and checks as well as card payments, and manage customized coupons with Apple Passbook integration. Merchants can begin accepting payments instantly with no need for a merchant account or waiting period for hardware delivery. The app is free to download with simple transaction fees of 1.95% for debit card payments, 2.95% for credit cards, and no fees for managing cash, checks, invoices or coupons.

QuickBooks Online customers who have not yet adopted Flint for their mobile payment needs can activate accounts in less than two minutes as part of the integration process.

"Intuit is committed to creating a powerful ecosystem of integrated apps for our millions of QuickBooks customers," said Ronny Tey, Group Marketing Manager for QuickBooks Apps.com. "For many service businesses, integrating QuickBooks Online with a mobile payment application brings big efficiency gains. Having Flint integrated into the QuickBooks Ecosystem will help many of these businesses work faster and smarter."

The integration - available immediately - features:

Two-minute setup, either from Apps.com or the user's QuickBooks Online account, simply by following the wizard instructions.

Automatic hourly sync that updates the user's QuickBooks Online account with all new Flint card, cash and check payments along with customer information, freeing users of manual daata import and 24-hour waits for updates to appear as required by other solutions. Flint users can also click a button to sync on demand. Both options eliminate hours of manual data entry.

Automatic customer data mapping from Flint to QuickBooks Online, improving client management and saving time. For existing clients who are set up in QuickBooks, Flint automatically maps transactions to the appropriate customer by matching email addresses. If the email address is new, Flint creates a new customer in QuickBooks.

Line-by-line transaction visibility for detailed reporting, including individual line items from every recorded sale. Rather than simply migrating transaction totals like other solutions, Flint provides a complete record of every product or service sold as well as tax, tips and discounts, and allows users to customize reporting in QuickBooks Online.

"Taking payments by smartphone is essential for businesses like contractors, photographers, IT consultants, and health, beauty and fitness professionals who do business either partially or entirely in the field. One of the common challenges is to efficiently link that information to your accounting system," said Flint co-founder and CEO Greg Goldfarb. "Connecting Flint to QuickBooks Online provides seamless integration that not only reduces paperwork but also helps users analyze their revenue stream down to the service or product item, promotional offer or sales tax in order to optimize their business."
