RBS beefs up global transaction services team

The Royal Bank of Scotland plc (RBS) today announced the appointment of five new senior hires to its Global Transaction Services team, further strengthening its capabilities and enhancing the service it provides to clients. All hires are global roles, based in London.

Carole Berndt, Global Head of Transaction Services, RBS, said: "I am delighted to welcome these senior bankers to RBS. Our investment in them underpins our focus on advising and serving our corporate and financial institutional clients, both in the UK and internationally. They will have a significant impact on our business across both sales and product, and each one will play a key role in enhancing the service we give to clients both in the UK and across our global network. They bring a depth of industry experience that aligns with and strengthens our transaction services expertise, which means we can continue to optimise our network and enhance the services we provide to our clients."

Helen Mason joins as Head of Bank Partnerships, consolidating the Bank's approach to and management of partner banking arrangements across Global Transaction Services. Mason has over 20 years experience within global transaction banking organisations and joins from Bank of America Merrill Lynch (BAML), where she has been leading the commercial cards business within GTS EMEA. Mason reports to Berndt.

Nick Blake joins as Head of Sales, a role which will see him define, implement, manage and monitor Global Transaction Services sales strategy. Blake joins after seven years at JP Morgan, where he has most recently been responsible for multinational corporate sales and treasury services across EMEA. Blake also reports to Berndt.

James Waud joins as Head of Subsidiary Clients and Sales Performance. Waud also joins from JP Morgan. He was at the bank for over 12 years, most recently as executive director and team leader for Northern Europe. Waud reports to Blake.

Stuart Lawson and Maha el Dimachki both join the GTS Cash Product team as Managing Directors. Previously Lawson spent six years at Standard Chartered, most recently as head of corporate sales for Transaction Banking Europe. El Dimachki spent six years at BAML, most recently as head of corporate sales for GTS across EMEA.
