SIX Financial Information has integrated its real-time data feed, MDFselect, with Bloomberg's managed market data distribution service, called Bloomberg Platform. When used for added resiliency, MDFselect ensures continuity and reliability of market data for dependent trading and risk management applications.

Access to consistent and dependable real-time financial information is critical to financial services firms and professionals that use this data to inform investment decisions and activate trading activities. To meet client needs, SIX Financial Information worked with Bloomberg's Enterprise Solutions business to develop a managed feed adapter for MDFselect, a total solution which was recently deployed for a large asset management firm in the United States.

Existing users of Bloomberg's consolidated market data feed, or B-PIPE, have the option of using SIX Financial Information's data feed as an automated or self-managed service that provides resiliency. Downstream applications and displays access and use SIX Financial Information's real-time, delayed, or historical data in the same way they would access data from Bloomberg's consolidated data feed. No recoding or reprogramming is necessary to enable applications to access data from either data source. Entitlements for both data feeds are managed by Bloomberg's Entitlements Management and Reporting System (EMRS).

"We are delighted to have the opportunity to work with SIX to develop an integrated and comprehensive service that can provide the data content that clients want, and the resiliency they need, to support reliable and consistent business operations," said Tony McManus, global head of real-time technology for Bloomberg's Enterprise Solutions business.

"Bloomberg built its business by listening to its clients and delivering what they want. The integration of SIX Financial Information's real-time market data feed is an example of how Bloomberg is collaborating to develop services that help clients adopt intelligent data governance practices," said Mirko Silvestri, Head Product Management Market Data, SIX Financial Information.

Offered as a managed service, Bloomberg's Platform enables firms to harness Bloomberg's global network and data distribution technology to manage, control and deliver real-time, reference, pricing and historical data to applications across the enterprise. Bloomberg Platform integrates with third-party software applications, which gives clients flexibility and choice when configuring their enterprise workflow.

The Bloomberg Platform, Adapter for MDFselect, and MDFselect are available globally.
