Datum Datacentres today announced that it is Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standard (DSS) compliant, meeting a comprehensive set of security requirements designed to protect cardholder information.

PCI DSS certification at Level 1 Service Provider status builds on Datum's ISO27001 and ISO 9001 accreditation and continues to demonstrate Datum's ability to deliver a secure environment for its clients' critical IT infrastructures.

Datum provides secure co-location to enterprise and service providers within its highly resilient data centre. The Datum PCI is underpinned by its secure facilities, specific and documented processes, advanced technology and by its people.

Focusing on robust and comprehensive standards to enhance payment card data security, the PCI Security Standards council helps organisations ensure the safe handling of cardholder information at every step. The keystone is the PCI DSS which provides a framework for developing a robust payment card data security process.

Commenting on gaining PCI DSS compliant data centre status, Dominic Phillips, Managing Director, says "We are delighted to be able to offer our clients PCI DSS co-location to complement their own accreditations. As a secure provider of colocation for business critical data, we place great importance on accreditations that support our clients' businesses and demonstrate our focus on quality and service - PCI DSS is one example."
