Commonwealth Bank today continued its drive to give more customers access to world-class mobile banking and payment innovations with the release of its new CommBank app for iPhone.
Available to download from the App Store today, the enhanced CommBank app brings contactless mobile payments and simpler, more convenient mobile banking solutions to iPhone customers.
According to Lisa Frazier, Executive General Manager Digital Channels, Commonwealth Bank, the continued roll out of the CommBank app is making anytime, anywhere, mobile banking and payments a reality for more customers.
"From today, all of CommBank's mobile customers have the opportunity to embrace the mobile wallet revolution and experience next generation mobile banking and payments enhancements.
"Our mobile customers can now leave their wallet at home and use their phone to pay for everyday items from a morning coffee, to groceries; while our mobile banking innovations make checking a balance, or paying a bill or a friend, simpler and faster."
Today's roll out for the iPhone platform follows the successful launch of the new CommBank app on Android and Windows 8 platforms in December last year.
"We are thrilled with how well the new CommBank app has been received by customers, with 300,000 updating to the new app in just a few weeks," stated Ms Frazier.
Mobile banking and payments anytime, anywhere
With CommBank PayTag – the sticker that attaches to the back of a customer's smartphone – iPhone customers can make secure, contactless MasterCard® PayPass™ payments up to $100, with a simple tap of their phone. CommBank PayTag can be ordered and activated via the CommBank app for $2.99.
Other enhancements to the CommBank app, including simple swipe balance checks, BPAY QR code payments and mate payments using a mobile number, email or Facebook® contact, making banking on-the-go quicker and easier than ever before.
