PayPal APAC is delivering great online consumer shopping experiences with the launch of mo.bi.pay, an innovative mobile payments solution developed for small-to-medium businesses (SMBs).

Mo.bi.pay (mobile built-in payments) is a mobile plug-in solution developed for merchants using shopping carts on their platforms. Developed by the Vertical Solutions team in Singapore, the plug-in allows SMBs to easily customize their websites for mobile shopping without any impact to existing sites.Mo.bi.pay incorporates PayPal's mobile best practices so the customer can pay quickly, easily and securely from his or her mobile device - while potentially reducing shopping cart abandonment and increasing a merchant's sales.

"Customers have a good shopping experience on my mobile site. The product display design makes it easy for customers to browse through the product list," said Zou Guo Rong of rfsupplier.com, a website specializing in custom RF cable assemblies.

Kris Chen, regional head of SMB, APAC, says that merchants with mobile-optimized websites are experiencing more than 245 percent year-over-year growth on mobile total payments volume (TPV), By contrast, merchants who haven't optimized their sites have seen only 118 percent growth.

As APAC continues to see strong growth in mobile transactions, the risks to merchants who choose not to optimize their websites will also grow.

"Buyers will have problems browsing, purchasing and checking out on their mobile devices, and ultimately orders will drop off," Chen said. "Given there are no costs to the merchant and no membership sign-up or additional address requirements to fill out on the customer's device, we're seeing significant interest in mo.bi.pay."
