Zix Corporation (ZixCorp), (ZIXI), a leader in email data protection, announces First United Security Bank (FUSB) has selected ZixOneTM to enable its employees to use personal mobile devices for work, also known as Bring-Your-Own-Device (BYOD).

By streaming corporate email through ZixOne and not allowing that corporate data to reside on the device, FUSB enhances employee productivity, reduces liability risks and protects corporate data without hindering employee convenience or privacy.

“In evaluating BYOD security solutions, we determined that having access to employees’ personal information and the capability to wipe their data added unnecessary layers of complexity and exposed us to legal concerns,” said Phillip Wheat, Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer for FUSB. “ZixOne delivers a unique approach that provides excellent BYOD security with a pleasant user experience – all from an existing relationship that we trust.”

FUSB provides ZixOne to all employees who use smartphones and tablets. If a mobile device is lost or stolen, a FUSB administrator can simply disable access to corporate email from that device through ZixOne. Since corporate data does not reside on the device, it is not exposed and does not have to be wiped or deleted from the device.

“Simplicity is part of the beauty of ZixOne. Our employees installed and used the app on their own, without any training. Setup was just as convenient, and its cost and strict security standards align with our BYOD needs,” said Wheat. “ZixOne is a very usable app that gives our employees the connection they need to office email, calendar and contacts without putting our data at risk.”

ZixOne is priced per employee for use across iOS and Android devices. It can be deployed with Microsoft Exchange in less than an hour, and the app can be downloaded to the user’s device in less than a minute.

“There’s a business demand to enable productivity and take advantage of the efficiencies that result from employees using their own personal mobile devices for work, but at the same time, there’s a requirement to find a BYOD solution that does so securely and conveniently,” said Rick Spurr, ZixCorp’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. “Although our approach and the technology behind it are revolutionary, ZixOne isn’t complicated for our customers and their employees. We allow businesses like First United Security Bank to execute their BYOD strategies simply and with the highest standards for security, convenience and employee privacy.”
