Accellion, Inc., the pioneer in providing secure enterprise mobile productivity solutions, today announced Needham Bank, which has been serving Boston and its communities since 1892, implemented Accellion mobile content management solutions throughout the entire organization.

Credit teams and bankers now have secure mobile access to financial files and documentation and can share securely with people inside and outside the organization, via their mobile device of choice.

Providing secure access to documentation was the primary goal when Needham Bank began searching for technology partners to support the modernization of its technology systems. However, the company realized that with Accellion they could not only have secure access to documentation, but they could also mobilize their work force, enabling secure access to documentation from any mobile device, at any time.

"The mobility piece made Accellion a no-brainer for our organization, because it enabled us to move beyond an ad-hoc collaboration platform and put in place a solution that will address any number of mobility challenges we may face down the line," said James Gordon, first VP for operations and technology at Needham Bank. "With Accellion we benefit from the security of a private cloud, mobile accessibility and easy-to-use collaboration, all from one provider."

Many of the bank's internal teams are heavy users of Microsoft SharePoint, and with Accellion's enterprise integration, they now have secure mobile access to SharePoint and can easily edit, collaborate and share content with external users. This has streamlined how the bank's teams work with external partners such as lawyers and appraisers, saving time for all parties involved, without necessitating an entire overhaul of the organization's established workflows.

"Increased mobile usage and BYOD has created security challenges for financial institutions who must meet stringent security requirements to ensure the privacy of their customers' personally identifiable information," said Paula Skokowski, chief marketing officer of Accellion. "Needham Bank was able to realize mobile productivity gains while maintaining the highest levels of security and data control with Accellion."
