Financial Technology Partners LP and FTP Securities LLC (together "FT Partners"), now in its 12th year as the leading boutique investment bank focused exclusively on financial services and technology, is pleased to announce that Jeff Haughton has joined the Firm's Investment Banking team as a Managing Director based in San Francisco.
Mr. Haughton joins FT Partners after 15 years in financial technology investment banking at Goldman Sachs, most recently as a Managing Director and Co-Head of its Global Financial Technology Group.
Mr. Haughton has specialized in the financial services and technology sector at Goldman Sachs for almost 15 years. One of the most highly sought after bankers in the space for many years, Jeff brings with him a wealth of experience having advised on a broad array of high profile, multi-billion dollar and mid-market M&A and financing transactions in the sector. Just a few of Jeff's transactions include the record-setting $18 billion Visa IPO, the $2 billion sale of CyberSource to Visa, the $4.4 billion sale of CheckFree to Fiserv, the acquisition of Authorize.net by CyberSource, the spin-off of First American Financial Corporation from CoreLogic, financing Solera's acquisition of Explore, PayPal's acquisition of Verisign's payment gateway and the IPOs of Blackhawk Network, Performant Financial, Higher One, Financial Engines, Solera and many others.
"We are thrilled to welcome Jeff to the FT Partners team and could not have brought on a better banker for our organization. I have known Jeff for all of his 15 years at Goldman, worked both with and across the table from him frequently, and I am confident that his addition will further strengthen our ability to provide the absolute best advisory services to our clients," said Steve McLaughlin, CEO, Founder and Managing Partner of FT Partners. "We've worked hard to earn a reputation for integrity, trust and delivery of top-notch results and adding Jeff to our senior team will provide an immediate benefit as we continue to expand our franchise globally."
Bill McKiernan, Founder and former CEO of CyberSource added, "While Jeff was at Goldman, I had the pleasure of working closely with him as he advised us on our highly successful $2 billion sale to Visa. I would highly recommend Jeff to any CEO in the financial technology sector. It is terrific to see Jeff join the winning team at FT Partners, where I look forward to working with him in the future knowing he'll continue to guide other CEOs and Boards in some of the industry's most important transactions."
"For the last 12 years, I have watched FT Partners become an influential force and clear leader in the financial technology sector - and I'm excited to help contribute to the platform that Steve and the team have created over the past decade," said Jeff Haughton, Managing Director. "What impressed me the most about FT Partners is the passion and dedication the entire team has for the Firm's clients and the fintech sector itself — and their results speak for themselves. It's clear why FT Partners has managed to establish itself as the one of the most successful boutiques in the world and I look forward to being a part of the team's success going forward."
