GlobalPlatform, the organization which standardizes the management of applications on secure chip technology, has announced its latest Observer Member as identification solutions and services provider ABnote.
ABnote will initially focus its attention on the work of the GlobalPlatform Mobile Task Force. This group works to understand the business requirements of the secure mobile services ecosystem and aims to ensure an agreed and workable application management infrastructure is established.
Jim Ellis, Senior Vice President of ABnote, states: "We believe that interoperability in the secure chip ecosystem is key to achieving a sustainable future for the mobile services marketplace. We look forward to being completely up-to-date with GlobalPlatform's activities to standardize technologies such as the secure element and the trusted execution environment, as well as contributing to GlobalPlatform's activity to promote open and neutral technology standards."
