Financial Software & Systems (P) Ltd., key Payment Systems Integrator, solution provider and technology partner of SBI, enabled a landmark technology upgrade for the bank today.
FSS implemented and integrated ACI's BASE24 transaction switch application ver 6.10, and also upgraded the software to run on the high-end HP NonStop NB54000c Blade System which will help SBI increase its ATM network from 30,000+ to over 60,000+ ATMs in the next two to three years, making it one of the largest bank owned ATM networks in the world. Through this upgrade, SBI's ATM expansion plans will actively support Government of India / Ministry of Finance ambitious mission to increase ATM penetration in the country of which SBI has the largest contribution.
FSS has been associated with SBI from the year 2000 when they were selected by the bank as its Switch System Integrator through a global tender for setting up the transaction switch. At that time, SBI had 200 ATMs and 100,000 ATM cards to begin with on its ATM network. In a span of 13 years, FSS has enabled SBI with multiple upgrades to the transaction switch to scale and handle several thousand ATMs and have upgraded their debit card management and reconciliation systems from FSS to process the card lifecycle for over 100 million+ cards.

Over 40+ resources were used including participation from senior management team in FSS to deliver the upgraded systems. In addition we hav have over 100+ resources onsite headed by a senior Project Manager to support various Switch, Card, Recon, and Production Support activities at SBI's IT centers in Mumbai, Chennai, and Hyderabad", says Yogesh P. The BASE24 upgrade contract was awarded to FSS in Oct 2012 and the implementation commenced in early November 2012 and was completed in January 2013, in a record period of less than 3 months. A well-defined migration plan based on standard project risk management and in-depth Impact analysis ensured seamless integration of the Transaction Switch with various front-end and back-end systems in the Bank, with minimum downtime. SBI also uses card management and reconciliation services from FSS.
In addition to SBI, FSS recently upgraded AXIS Bank Transaction Switch (10,000 + ATMs) and assisted with the upgrade in HDFC Bank (10,000 + ATMs) in India and has worked closely with banks worldwide on similar assignments.
