MasterCard names Irni Palar Indonesia director

MasterCard Worldwide today announced that Irni Palar will take up the position of Indonesia Director, effective immediately.

As Indonesia Director, Ms. Palar will hold overall responsibility for all aspects of MasterCard operations in Indonesia with a focus on corporate positioning and customer advocacy. She will be responsible for providing direction and insight to achieve business targets for Indonesia and her core responsibilities will include forging strategic partnerships with customer banks, merchants, and consumers in the market to enhance MasterCard's brand positioning and promote the usage and acceptance of MasterCard cards.

Ms. Palar joins MasterCard from PT Bank Mega, where she was Vice President, Head of Sales and Marketing in the Credit Card Division, and responsible for developing strategic credit card initiatives and delivering significant growth within all aspects of Card business performance indicators. During her tenure there, Ms. Palar quadrupled the bank's credit card base in three years, playing a critical role in improving the company's market share, doubling sales volume and outstanding balance performance to achieve profitability. Prior to that, Ms. Palar spent eight years at American Express Bank, Ltd in Indonesia, with her last role being Head of Global Establishment Services.

Ms. Palar graduated with Bachelor of Business Administration from Portland State University in the U.S.A.
