First Data Corporation, a global leader in electronic commerce and payment processing, today shared highlights from its Q3 2012 US Product Release.

In a continuing effort to power a new era of Universal Commerce, First Data has made its solutions even easier to use through updates to the First Data point-of-sale (POS) terminal line and enhancements to integrated applications.

First Data FD400GT Launched
The First Data FD400GT wireless terminal allows on-the-go merchants to take advantage of electronic payments. Traditional wired payment terminals that require power are not suitable for businesses that provide products or services in homes, at trade shows or other non-traditional retail locations. Merchants can now opt for the FD400GT, a light-weight full function POS device with touch-screen interface that connects wirelessly over 3G technologies. The FD400GT terminal is targeted to be contactless and EMV-enabled in 2013.

New ADA-Compliant Keypads for First Data Terminal Line
Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) required the change of First Data's terminal keypads for any device manufactured after March 15, 2012. All key pads on First Data POS devices have been updated to the global standard to improve access for all users.

In addition to serving merchants and financial institutions, First Data's Government unit processes over $2 trillion in different tax payments annually for its government customers.

First Data Retail Solution Update
The First Data Retail Solution application has been updated and released into production effective Sept. 1, 2012 to support tax functionality to comply with privatized liquor and spirit sales in the State of Washington. All new systems sold after this date will be deployed to customers with this version of the First Data Retail Solution application.
