Skandia launches 'appetite for risk' iPad app

Following the launch of the successful 'appetite for risk' iPhone and Android app Skandia has launched an enhanced version for iPads.

The app is designed to help advisers assess a client's attitude to risk, and then aid a risk discussion, in a single meeting. Advisers run through either 11 or 13 questions to assess their client's appetite for risk and when completed, the app will calculate a risk score, between 1 and 10, with 10 representing the highest risk. The app then quantifies what the risk score means in terms of a range of expected returns to help the adviser explain what the results mean.

The appetite for risk phone app, launched in April 2012, has already received over 2,600 downloads. Following advisers' feedback Skandia has developed an enhanced version for iPads, which includes several new and innovative features. The most important development is that advisers can now get their clients to sign directly onto the iPad to confirm they agree with the risk level selected. In addition, advisers can now compare a client's risk score against two alternative risk levels, as opposed to just one on the mobile app.

There are also several improved sharing and saving options, and a helpful tutorial guide. The appetite for risk app is available now to download from the Apple app store - search for 'Skandia' to find the app.

Jeremy Mugridge, Head of Digital at Skandia UK comments:

"Feedback from advisers has demonstrated the importance of developing an iPad version of the successful phone app. The iPad adaptation is incredibly easy to use and we've been able to utilise the larger screen size of the iPad to improve the overall user experience. This illustrates our continued commitment to improving the overall investment experience for both advisers and their customers; saving both parties' time and money!"
