BNP Paribas announces the launch of its advanced, electronic foreign exchange trading platform - "Cortex FX" - which provides an innovative multi-product solution for corporate and financial institutional clients to manage their foreign exchange requirements.

CORTEX FX is a new and technologically-advanced platform, designed to provide clients with a single point of access to the full breadth of electronic foreign exchange products, tools and services. Built in-house using Silverlight technology, CORTEX FX enables corporate and financial institution clients to develop foreign exchange strategies, access market-leading research and execute, monitor and evaluate their foreign exchange trades.

BNP Paribas Corporate and Investment Banking has invested heavily in developing and upgrading its electronic trading capabilities over the past year, based on dialogue with clients and a significant increase in electronic trading volumes. CORTEX FX is the culmination of these investments, offering clients a fully-integrated and highly customisable 'trading journey', from pre-trade through to posttrade services.

Thomas Soede, Global Head of Electronic Markets at BNP Paribas, says "CORTEX FX represents an exciting new product launch for BNP Paribas' clients. We have developed a new electronic application that is fully integrated in terms of product access, enabling clients to benefit from using a range of intelligent electronic tools and services. Additional asset class applications will be launched on the CORTEX platform in the coming months."

Following the launch, Arne Groes, Global Head of Sales says: "CORTEX FX will be a key component for BNP Paribas' global FX credentials. Its rich functionality and innovative trading technology underpins the bank's on-going commitment to clients' foreign exchange trading requirements. We are confident that CORTEX FX can help propel the bank's broad ambitions, as we look to compete at the forefront of the electronic markets space."
