Société Générale selects Oberthur for French NFC roll out

Oberthur Technologies, the world's second largest provider of security and identification solutions and services based on smart card technologies, announced the signing of a contract with Société Générale for the roll out of NFC services in France this year.

"At Société Générale we constantly strive to bring to the market reliable and easy-to-use solutions designed to meet the changing needs of our customers. To ensure a successful roll out of NFC mobile payments in France, we chose to partner with Oberthur Technologies because of their track record in TSM services", said, Yves Blavet, Head of payment instruments at Société Générale.

The TSM hosted in one of Oberthur Technologies' data centers will allow Société Générale to roll out its payment application to its customers using NFC compatible phones.

Société Générale will benefit from Oberthur Technologies' expertise in personalization - over 30 service centers around the world - and TSM know-how acquired over many projects around the world notably in France, in the United Kingdom, Poland, Romania, Czech Republic, Spain, South Africa or in the USA.
