Mirapoint Software to merge with Critical Path

Mirapoint Software, the secure enterprise messaging experts, and Critical Path, Inc., a leading provider of messaging software and services, today announced that they have entered into a definitive agreement to merge.

The combination advances both companies' strategies of delivering world class messaging, security and archiving solutions to leading enterprises and service providers around the world.

"This merger brings immediate new value for Mirapoint's enterprise and service provider customers," said Jeff Witous, CEO, Mirapoint. "Mirapoint has achieved recognition as a world leader in providing integrated email, security and archiving solutions in the convenience of an appliance. We are delighted to now have the opportunity to combine that expertise with Critical Path."

"This merger enriches our messaging and security offerings for our combined customers around the world," commented Critical Path CEO Mark Palomba. "We can now offer an unparalleled breadth of solution options ranging from turnkey appliances to highly customized solutions to software as a service for both enterprises and service providers."

The transaction is expected to be completed within 30 days. The combined company will operate under the name Critical Path Inc. with primary operations in Sunnyvale, California and Dublin, Ireland. Mark Palomba will serve as CEO with Jeff Witous serving as a strategic advisor to the combined company.
