Zogix launches carbon management platform integrated with Oracle Applications

Zogix, a leading provider of carbon management solutions, has announced its Carbon Management Platform for Oracle Applications customers in the UK. The solution from Zogix, a member of the Oracle PartnerNetwork and the Oracle UK Emerging Partner Programme, will enable large enterprises to address one of the most pressing and unresolved issues on boardroom agendas in a manner that aligns sustainability with business strategy.

With increasing focus on efficiency, a free Carbon Healthcheck will enable companies to evaluate their emissions against industry benchmarks in 48 hours to show how they can achieve measureable carbon emission reductions. The integration with Oracle Service-Oriented-Architecture technology means customers can effectively extract data for Carbon Management from their existing Oracle Applications to quickly produce a clear overall picture of their carbon emissions footprint across their entire operations.

The launch in the UK comes after months of pilot trials and conducting detailed market studies with companies across all industry sectors. Ranging from concerns about a lack of transparency and a holistic view of carbon emissions to inconsistent approaches to environmental policy and question marks over measurement, ownership and accountability of sustainability it is clear enterprises have been struggling to find a solution.

By integrating Zogix to Oracle Applications, including Oracle iExpenses and Oracle iProcurement, both part of the Oracle E-Business Suite using Oracle Service-Oriented-Architecture technology, companies are very quickly able to overcome the practical issue of extracting and collating data from disparate systems due to Oracle's focus on open standards and interoperability.

Consequently business leaders are free to focus on the strategic benefits of the Zogix Carbon Management software, as they can easily analyse data using its graphical dashboard displays to start cutting carbon emissions and reducing operating expenditure. For example, Chief Financial Officers are able to develop a very granular picture of the sources for carbon emissions, allowing them to share the costs of carbon management across an entire organisation.

Chief Executives can be confident about their carbon reporting when preparing to comply with the forthcoming UK Carbon Reduction Commitment and are able to deploy simplified 'Cap and Trade' style carbon reduction policies quickly across their organisation. Employees also can become more engaged and accountable for their carbon footprint with Zogix helping employers to reward staff, who choose more sustainable travel and procurement options.

Sam Bose, Co-Founder, Zogix: "The immediate benefit is giving decision makers a holistic view and the transparency they need to take effective actions. Within 48 hours we have been able to show companies their emissions profile compared against industry benchmarks, where they should focus on to achieve savings immediately - all through an dashboard that provides a detailed breakdown of a company's carbon footprint on company-wide, departmental and employee role levels".

Charles Vivian, Co-Founder, Zogix explains: "Once companies have a transparent view of the problem, they can see a clear path to taking a series of simple implementable actions that can successfully provide savings of savings of operational costs and carbon emissions."

Ajay Vohora, Commercial Director, Zogix: "It has been interesting to see how attitudes towards sustainability have evolved in the last six months. Although there have been a lot of good intentions to adopt more sustainable business practices there have been significant practical issues to overcome about integrating carbon management solutions into existing IT infrastructures, being able to extract that data from disparate applications and turn it into a coherent overall picture of a company's footprint. Being open standards based Oracle Service Oriented Architecture technology gives companies the confidence that they can adopt Zogix without significant new investment costs and begin to address sustainability in a holistic manner."
