Hypercom names Rhodes VP, global supply chain management; Jones VP, global HR

Hypercom Corporation (NYSE: HYC) today announced the appointment of Ronald R. Rhodes to Vice President, Global Supply Chain Management and Tim Jones to Vice President, Global Human Resources.

Mr. Rhodes is responsible for directing the company's worldwide supply chain operations. Mr. Jones is responsible for managing and directing Hypercom's human resource function, including compensation, benefits, employee relations and related compliance worldwide. Both appointments are effective immediately.

About Ronald R. Rhodes

Ronald R. Rhodes is a seasoned and accomplished executive with expertise in driving profitable growth. He brings more than 30 years of experience in directing global manufacturing and supply chain operations to Hypercom, and a track record of delivering manufacturing and production enhancements under aggressive timelines to capture significant business development opportunities.

Immediately prior to Hypercom, Mr. Rhodes was Senior Vice President of Global Operations for Palm, Inc. from 2006 to 2008, where he established and directed worldwide supply chain management, including product cost reduction, inventory management and quality organization. He established and implemented objectives to support growth and development initiatives, drove reliability testing, reverse logistics and related process improvements to attain best-practice operations.

From 2003 to 2006, Mr. Rhodes served as Senior Vice President of Manufacturing & Supply Chain Operations at PSC, Inc., where he identified, developed and directed key operational initiatives and implemented processes and procedures across all supply chain functions.

Prior to that, Mr. Rhodes served for 25 years with Motorola, Inc. in a number of progressive leadership roles. In his last post as Vice President of Americas Supply Chain Operations from 2000 to 2003, Mr. Rhodes oversaw and directed operations in North and South America encompassing 8,500 employees and a multi-million budget.

As Vice President of Manufacturing Operations from 1998 to 2000, he directed a staff of more than 1,000 and implemented the company's global supply chain strategy. He oversaw and led the manufacturing, sourcing, technical and advanced manufacturing operations for the company's multi-million dollar embedded board and system operation.

As Director of Operations from 1996 to 1998, Mr. Rhodes managed global operations across the manufacturing, sourcing, customer service, distribution and quality assurance functions. He led a team of more than 700 employees and was directly responsible for P&L, cost reduction, strategic planning, procurement, sales and worldwide inventory.

Prior to that, Mr. Rhodes held a number of progressive positions with Motorola including Director of Worldwide Manufacturing Operations from 1993 to 1996, Director, Division Operations and Private Network Business Unit from 1990 to 1993, and Manufacturing Operations Manager from 1987 to 1990.

Mr. Rhodes holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration from Bellarmine College.

About Tim Jones

Tim Jones is an accomplished HR professional who brings to Hypercom more than 25 years of executive, corporate staff and field operations human resource experience.

Immediately prior to joining Hypercom, Mr. Jones served for three years as Global Vice President of Human Resources at IXIA, Inc. There, he created, implemented and directed all HR metrics, policies and procedures, compensation structures and performance management processes. He was also instrumental in increasing the company's workforce at two offshore entities in Bucharest, Romania and Calcutta, India.

From 2001 to 2005, Mr. Jones served as Global Vice President of Human Resources for Remec, Inc., where he was responsible for all aspects of employee relations including benefits, compensation, staffing, health and safety and workers compensation for 1,500 U.S.-based professionals. At the same time, he also managed international HR functions in the United Kingdom, Finland, China, Korea, the Philippines and Costa Rica.

Mr. Jones was Senior Vice President of Worldwide Human Resources at GN Resound Corporation from 1999 to 2001. There, he directed a team of 17 HR professionals focused on global recruitment, compensation and benefits, employee relations, training and development, health and safety, facilities and administration. When GN Resound acquired Beltone Electronics Corporation in 2000, Mr. Jones was instrumental in integrating Beltone's 1,300 global employees and multiple benefit plans into one unified company.

Mr. Jones served as Vice President of Human Resources for Forte Software, Inc. from 1997 to 1999; Chief Human Resources Executive at Dun & Bradstreet's Pilot Software, Inc. from 1995 to 1997; and Chief Human Resources Executive with Symix Computer Systems, Inc., from 1994 to 1995.

Prior to that, Mr. Jones was Regional Director, Human Resources Operations, Western Region at Sprint Communications Corporation from 1991 to 1994. Also at Sprint, he served as Director, Human Resources Operations-Kansas City, Mo., from 1990 to 1991; and Director, Human Resources Operations-Dallas, Tex., from 1988 to 1990.

Mr. Jones has also held positions with Mobile Oil Corporation and Rand McNally & Company. He is a member of the Society of Human Resources Management, the San Diego International Human Resources Association, and the San Diego Executive Human Resources Roundtable. Mr. Jones holds a Master of Science in Labor Relations from Iowa State University and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Baldwin Wallace College.
