Industrial Development Bank of India signs for Finacle

The Industrial Development Bank of India (IDBI) is deploying Infosys Technologies' Finacle core banking software across 101 locations to support its new commercial banking services.

IDBI, which has traditionally focussed on development finance, has recently received a licence allowing it to introduce commercial banking services.

The technology will be rolled out across the bank's locations by March 2005.

Merwin Fernandes, vice president and global head of sales and marketing, banking business unit, Infosys Technologies, says: "We are confident that Finacle will provide IDBI a world-class new generation technology solution that is highly scalable, proven, flexible and low risk."
