Markit, a leading, global financial information services company, today announced that Credit Suisse has selected Markit's Enterprise Data Management (EDM) platform (formerly Cadis Software) to manage and master the wide range of data used within its private bank's research department.

As part of this initiative, Markit EDM will take in data from various internal databases holding static and pricing data and consolidate it within one single database. This will enable Credit Suisse's research department to gather data easily and efficiently.

Oliver Loretan, Director of Projects and Services at Credit Suisse Private Bank, said: "We selected Markit EDM due to a combination of the good technology fit, the platform's flexibility, total cost of ownership and Markit EDM's proven track record of getting complex data programmes live within very short time frames."

Daniel Simpson, Managing Director, Head of Markit EDM at Markit, said: "The issue of getting access to data from multiple internal sources and consolidating it in one place is at the heart of today's risk management and regulatory reporting initiatives. We are seeing an increasing demand for the Markit EDM platform for risk and regulatory driven initiatives and we are delighted to welcome Credit Suisse as a client."
