Reuters (LSE: RTR, Nasdaq: RTRSY), the global information company, today announced it has selected FaceTime Communications, the premier provider of solutions that secure, manage and extend instant messaging (IM) and peer-to-peer (P2P) applications, as its Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) provider for its Reuters Messaging Compliance Manager.

The new compliance solution, which Reuters plans to release later this year, will support customers' needs to meet strict compliance and corporate governance requirements imposed on the highly regulated financial services sector. This announcement complements Reuters existing relationship with FaceTime under the Reuters Messaging Compliance Partner Program.

FaceTime's industry unique TrueCompliance are a collection of features that support the need for strict regulatory compliance for IM and P2P networks. These features will support the upcoming Reuters Messaging 5.0, to include forms and multi-party persistent chat.

David Gurle, EVP, Global Head of Collaboration Services at Reuters, said: "The world's leading financial services firms rely on Reuters Messaging to conduct business. As such, it is critical that our compliance platform supports our customers' needs to meet the most stringent regulatory requirements. We teamed up with FaceTime because of their advanced technology and market leadership."

Kailash Ambwani, President and CEO at FaceTime Communications, said: "FaceTime is proud to collaborate with Reuters, the dominant provider of messaging solutions for the world's financial services firms. Through this alliance, Reuters Messaging customers stand to benefit from the world's only solution that truly complies with all government regulations."

FaceTime was selected by Reuters for FaceTime's longstanding leadership in both innovation and market share in the IM compliance, management and security space; the robust functionality, stability and scalability of its product suite; and a successful track record with OEMs. As a next step, Reuters plans to make Reuters Messaging Compliance Manager available on a hosted basis.
