Misys names James Crosby chairman

The Board of Misys plc (FTSE: MSY.L), the global applications software and services company, is pleased to announce today that Sir James Crosby has been appointed as Chairman of the Company with immediate effect.

The appointment follows the retirement of Sir Dominic Cadbury who stood down as Chairman following the Annual General Meeting of the Company held earlier today.

Sir James Crosby was appointed as Non Executive Director and Chairman Designate on 30 January 2009, and was elected as a non executive Director by shareholders at the Annual General Meeting held earlier today.

Sir Dominic Cadbury commented: "After almost 10 years as a Director with Misys I step down as Chairman knowing that I leave Misys in a strong position, with a very capable Chairman in Sir James Crosby. The Company has been transformed and I am proud to have been part of the Misys team."

Sir James Crosby, Chairman of Misys plc, said: "It is a great privilege to be appointed as Chairman of Misys and I look forward to building on the progress that has been made in transforming the Company. On behalf of the whole Company and its shareholders I pay tribute to Sir Dominic Cadbury for his excellent stewardship and leadership. He led Misys through major change and helped position the Company for growth; he will be a tough act to follow."

Sir James Crosby is the Senior Independent Director of ITV plc, Compass Group plc, and a trustee of Cancer Research (UK).

There are no other matters which require disclosure pursuant to LR 9.6 13 (2) to (6).

The results of the Annual General Meeting held on 30th September 2009 can be viewed on the Misys plc website. Voting at this meeting was held by a poll and all resolutions proposed by the Chairman were passed by shareholders. The results of the meeting are available on the Misys plc website misys.com.

All resolutions passed at the meeting and the results from the meeting have been submitted to the UK Listing Authority. These documents will shortly be available for inspection at the UK Listing Authority's Document Viewing Facility which is situated at:
